Hello, Welcome to The Handmade Bar!

My name is Kevina. I am the proud owner/ founder of The Handmade Bar.  Besides being a soap maker, I have always had a passion for creating, encouraging and sharing knowledge. I am a firm believer in the Maya Angelou quote, “When we know better, we can do better.”

Did you know that the skin is the largest organ of the body? Often, we purchase products such as cosmetics, soaps, body creams and fragrances, rarely focusing on the ingredients in the product or the effects they can have on the skin and other parts of the body.

From a young age I always loved all things skincare, so much that I made my own scrubs, body creams, and deodorants. The products I didn’t make, I was guilty of not reading the ingredients, not to mention able to pronounce or look up to see if they were  safe or harmful. After much research I found out that some of the products I used were the culprits to sensitivity and chemical reactions. It was a huge eye-opener for me to learn how some of ingredients used in soaps, lotions, body creams etc., can cause  serious skin reactions, flare ups, and hormone imbalances which is one of my “why” for choosing to create The Handmade Bar. I care and believe that knowledge is power and when we know better, we can do better especially when it comes to taking care of the body.  The Handmade Bar is an honest company, focused on creating wholesome, nourishing, skin-loving products that are free of harmful chemicals and toxins that can disrupt the bodies system. 

I am passionate about what I do and find enjoyment in creating products that help rather than harm. I want to bring awareness of the benefits and use of clean, wholesome, and nourishing skin loving products… Because Your Body Matters.
