Q. Do you make the products yourself?

A. YES! All of the products are handcrafted by The Handmade Bar. I have created a special blend for the soaps that will gently cleanse your skin and leave it feeling hydrated. The body butters and oils are carefully sourced and then combined with other skin-loving ingredients to create a luxurious and nourishing product for your skin.

Q. Why should I buy your handmade soap?

A.  The ingredients. Our soap is “soap”  unlike many bar soaps and body washes sold in stores. Many of these commercial, manufactured brand soaps on the market is not really “soap”, they are nothing more than toxic and chemical-laden detergents in disguise. All of our soaps and other products are created with skin-loving ingredients that gently cleanse, nourish, that are better for your skin, body, mind and the environment.  So not only is handmade soap better for you, but you are also supporting a human being vs. a machine.

Q. What’s in your soaps / products?

A. The Handmade Bar products contain nourishing oils of olive, coconut, sweet almond, grapeseed, jojoba, sunflower, safflower, avocado, babassu, buruti, rosehip, castor, soursop, guava, RSPO (Roundtable Sustainable Palm Oil) palm oil, butters of shea, cocoa mango, Kokum, illipe, Kombo, cupuacu, distilled water, sodium hydroxide, activated charcoal, clays, teas,
coffees, fruit and vegetable purées, botanicals, minerals, oxides, skin safe micas, essential oils, phthalate free fragrance oils and lots of love.

Q. Is their lye in your soap?

A. Technically, all soap is made with lye/sodium hydroxide which is the alkali and a combination of fatty acids/oils needed to make any form of real soap. After the chemical reaction process of saponification, when the soap has fully cured the lye/sodium hydroxide has been completely transformed and NO lye remains in the final bar of soap. All you will get is a pure, cleansing, and nourishing to the skin bar of soap.

Q. Are your products vegan?

A. Most of our products are made with vegetable-based ingredients.  Occasionally we do use animal ingredients of goat’s milk and honey.  Please read all ingredients before purchasing, we want you to be happy and safe.

Q. Will your products heal or cure my….?

A. Everybody is unique, what works for you may not work for another. Although, our soaps and body care products are wonderful, I am not a doctor. I will not make any medical claims to “heal or cure” when using our products. Now if something does…. AMAZING!

Q. Why does the color of product, package, labels, sometimes look different from item to item, or order to order?

A. When you choose The Handmade Bar products you are choosing real over perfect: real oils, real butters, real essential oils, real fruits, botanicals, flower extracts etc. All made by real people, handcrafting every product that goes into jars, bags, and the label that goes on it. If a product looks different from the photo or what you last purchased don't worry, as you can be assured our fine quality of product will never change.

Q. Can you send me free samples?

A. No and Yes. I am a small business owner. When you purchase from The Handmade Bar, samples will be included in your order.

Q. Do we take custom orders.?

A. Yes, we do! Whether you are looking for a special gift, baby shower or wedding favors. We can create that special gift.
